Asus sets eyes on AI-driven business for 2025: Chairman

by Focus Taiwan

Taipei, April 28 (CNA) Asustek Computer Inc. (Asus) is looking to further expand its artificial intelligence-driven products and services this year, Chairman Jonney Shih (施崇棠) said in a business report released Sunday when addressing Asus’ 2025 business goals.

These include AI PCs, AI servers, Edge AI, and the Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), Shih said in the report.

While the progress of AI empowerment is still in its early stages, the diversified development of AI products and applications is expected to push the market to accelerate innovation and revolution, he said.

Looking into the near future, Shih said Asus will also actively develop high-end products in 2025 to improve the user experience and enhance brand value.

In the report, Asus said it had consolidated sales of NT$587.1 billion (US$18.06 billion) in 2024, up 22 percent from a year earlier, with net income of NT$31.4 billion and after-tax earnings per share (EPS) of NT$42.

Shih said the company’s sales in 2024 were the second highest in history, behind a high of NT$755.4 billion in 2007, and it achieved many key strategic goals, including getting a leadership position in Copilot+ PCs, an entirely new class of Windows PCs designed for AI tasks.

That helped Asus continue to excel as the top gaming notebook brand and reach its strategic goal for server business growth while continuously improving its Open Platform framework to support product innovation, Shih said.
